Geetika Patwardhan
Geetika Patwardhan was born and raised in Mililani, Hawai'i, and graduated with a BS in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Her undergraduate research focused on the inflammatory cascade of fetal kidney injury and the intracellular trafficking of amyloid precursor protein. As an IRTA fellow at the National Institutes of Health, she studied mitochondrial-lysosomal interactions in lysosomal storage diseases. Now, she is an MD-PhD student in the Weill Cornell Tri-I MD-PhD Program. Clinically, she is interested in rare neurological diseases and ocular manifestations of neurodegeneration. In the Gan Lab, she is broadly interested in neuronal metabolism in the setting of neurodegenerative disease. In her free time, she loves to practice yoga, watch and play tennis, and enjoy the beautiful seasons on the East Coast.
